EXECUTIVE BOARD
GOVERNOR
ALAINA SNOW - GOVERNOR
- Junior at Waupun Area Jr./Sr. High School
- Division 12
- Other Activities: Tennis, Spanish Club, NHS, Be the Change, FBLA, Student Council
- Platform: This past year, I served on the Executive Board as the Kiwanis Family Outreach Coordinator. It was an incredibly valuable experience, and throughout it, I found myself wanting to do more for this organization. Key Club has made service become a driving force in my life and I would love the opportunity to serve all of you as your governor this upcoming year. If I were to be elected governor, my goals would include: increasing collaboration with other branches of the Kiwanis Family by hosting more opportunities to work together, raising at least $7,000 for the governor’s project and hosting at least two events for Key Clubbers to come together from all over WIUM to do community service together. Through my executive board position, I have come to realize that we, as Key Clubbers, do not take advantage of all of the opportunities that having the Kiwanis family provides for us. My goal to increase our collaboration with the Kiwanis family will provide more opportunities to our members to get to know more of the K-Family while also making a bigger impact on their communities. My governor’s project would be supporting an organization dear to me, and we as a district would raise money for it by holding fundraisers and asking for donations. And finally, the two opportunities that I would provide for Key Clubbers would be great ways to do service while also increasing district unity. If you have any questions about me or my goals, please contact me!

- Platform: I am running for the office of governor of the WIUM Key Club district in hopes of spreading my love of service and sacrifice to more people and using my skills to make a tangible, positive difference in the world around me. Service has always been a significant part of my life, and through the office of governor, I will capitalize on my service experience and passion for Key Club to create a bright path for the future of the Wisconsin Upper Michigan District.
If elected I promise to uphold the standards set by our past governors. I look forward to continuing the governor’s project with the American Cancer Society to help try and free the world of cancer. My goals for this upcoming term include increasing total fundraising for the governor’s project, increasing district-wide engagement with the district projects, and ensuring a great relationship between the International Council and the WIUM district.

ALEXIS LITTS - BULLETIN EDITOR
- Junior at Gladstone High School
- Division 16
- Activities: Besides Key Club, I am involved in Girl Scouts, yearbook committee, and Youth in Government. I am usually part of Science Olympiad, but I was unable to participate in that this year. However, I do plan to do so next year.
- Platform: Hi Key Clubbers! My name is Alexis Litts and I am thrilled to be your candidate for Bulletin Editor. I have always had a passion for helping others, and Key Club has allowed me to develop that passion even further. I have been a dedicated member since freshman year, and last year, I served as your Membership Development Chair. Over the years, my love for Key Club has only grown. I am creative and hard-working, and I put my heart and soul into everything I do.
As your Bulletin Editor, I will focus on incorporating three key points into every edition of Key to Caring: communication, creativity, and teamwork. I will include important information in each submission and I will ensure that all clubs receive each issue. In addition, I will make sure that my articles are accessible by anyone through the WIUM website. I will also use my creativity and artistic skills to design organized, cohesive, and eye-catching articles. Since creativity is one of the most vital aspects of Key Club, I will showcase the creativity of clubs and members throughout the district. Most importantly, I will work with members from across WIUM as a team to produce Key to Caring articles that are informational and representative of the entire district.
Please vote for me as your district Bulletin Editor so that we can work together to highlight the best of WIUM with each article of Key to Caring! Thank you!
DIRECTOR OF COMMITTEES
KIERRA JURSCH - DIRECTOR OF COMMITTEES
- Junior at Gladstone High School
- Division 16
- Activities: Girl Scouts, Youth in Government, National Honors Society, Dungeons and Dragons Club, Yearbook Committee
- Platform: Hi, I’m Kierra Jursch and I’m running for District Director of Committees. I’ve known that I wanted to be in Key Club since grade school. After joining freshman year, I immediately started looking for more ways to get involved. This past year I was a Committee Chair and I enjoyed it immensely, but wanted to become more involved this year and try something different. I want this position because I know I have the skills to do a good job. From my Chair experience I am familiar with the work involved and what it takes to do the job. This gives me great insight for the Director position as to how to best manage and assist the Chairs in their duties. One of my biggest goals is to improve communication. This includes communication between the Executive Board and Chairs, Chairs and LTGs, and Chairs and clubs. I also want to increase the representation of different clubs within the committees. This will allow the board and Chairs to better serve Key Club members as well as give all clubs more of a say in the board. Another goal of mine is to continue to get all resources turned in and posted on time as well as sent out to clubs. Additionally, during my term I plan to go out of my way to be approachable and make people feel comfortable reaching out to me or asking questions. I want to serve you, my fellow Key Clubbers, as District Director of Committees.
KIWANIS FAMILY OUTREACH COORDINATOR
OPAL SHARMA - KIWANIS FAMILY OUTREACH COORDINATOR
- Junior at Brookfield Central High School
- Division 8
- Other Activities: BCHS Key Club, DECA executive board, Class Council
- Platform: As the 2019-2020 Projects & Events Chair, I have learned so much about Key Club and the ways in which the District Board is a vital resource for clubs. Being on the District Board this year has taught me myriad skills, I’ve become more organized, I’ve improved my communication skills, and I’ve learned how to better adjust to change. I’m interested in being the Kiwanis Family Outreach Coordinator (KFOW) next year because I love communicating with others and I’m a reliable leader. I’m always willing to help others and in my experience, this is an important part of being the KFOW. Since I have experience as a Committee Chair, I will be able to provide valuable input as the KFOW. The goals I would set for the upcoming year as the KFOW would be the following: I want to develop friendships with the Executive Board and be someone they can easily approach, I want to contact Kiwanis members on a bimonthly basis at least, I want to develop friendships with the Members of the Kiwanis Family, and I want to obtain a substantial amount in donations for the Outreach Fund. As the KFOW, I would be prepared to take on challenges and be a supportive Executive Board Member. I hope that I will be able to implement my ideas and aid the rest of the board in their endeavors.

- Other Activities: Mock trial, Varsity swim, Track, High School democrats, National Honor Society, Spanish honor society
- Platform: Serving on district board as the division 5 lieutenant governor and on my schools executive board since freshman year has taught me a lot about Key Club leadership at higher levels. I have learned so much about the commitment and dedication to service that it takes to help Key Club be the strongest organization it can be. Throughout my time in Key Club I have developed skills that have made me a better leader, communicator, and person. As an LTG this past year, I worked through many difficulties that this year had to offer and I was able to help my division by sharing resources and information to improve their clubs. The skills that I learned as an LTG and the challenges that came along with it have prepared me to take the step towards running for international office. The goals I have if I were to have this office include: strong communication with all levels of Key Club, continued efforts to connects districts with perfected charities, and overall help the service that districts are able to offer to Key Clubbers. Key Club has taught me so many valuable and life changing lessons and my ultimate goal for this position would to help Key Clubbers around the globe to see how service can impact the world.

- Platform: I am interested in serving as the Division 3 Lieutenant Governor once again, because I look forward to meeting new members of the WIUM district and informing them what is occuring at the upper levels of the organization. Communication is extremely important to me and being transparent with the clubs in my division. I constantly strive to be the best LTG I can and support each of my clubs not just in Key Club, but also just checking in on them in general. I have developed a great relationship with the officers of the clubs in Division 3 and I would like to continue establishing a good relationship with the new officer teams. I hope this upcoming year to hold an in-person DCM if COVID is not a major concern at that time.
